Amazin' 638: Previews

Amazing Spider-Man #638, Pages 11-12. 2010.
Ink with digital color on Marvel board, 21.5 x 17.25".

In case you haven't heard, there are a couple of OMIT previews floating around, one featuring Quesada's art, and one featuring my own. For those of you who are curious, I'll have no less than 20 pages of art in each issue. Should have the second issue colored and turned in next week. It's crunch time! Have a great weekend!

  1. I'm really excited for OMIT just from looking at that one finished panel.

Is Quesada doing like a back story or maybe a flashback from One More Day? 'Cause that's the only way I see that working. You guys don't exactly have similar styles.

  2. Thanks, guys!

Narco, Quesada is essentially framing the main story, the bulk of which I'm illustrating. We cover a lot of history, so I think it actually helps to differentiate the time frames. That being said, I'm doing more than just flashbacks, and Joe's done a great job of moving the story along seamlessly.

  4. I thought the art arrangement would be something like that. I saw the preview on Newsarama this morning; I'm just excited to see yours and Quesada's interior work again.

(I have a feeling that something controversial and polarizing will fall out of OMIT similarly to One More Day since Quesada's also drawing. Wait and see.)

  5. Thanks, thedave!

Narco, you may be right, but, as Quesada himself told me, I'll probably benefit no matter what the reaction to the story. That being said, I think it will go over well. Regardless of the implications to the larger Spidey Universe, I think it'll be a good read.

  6. There's no doubt you'll get a great amount of exposure with OMIT, and I'm really happy about that. Your work deserves it!

Besides, I like Amazing post-OMD. It's really vibrant and chaotic; it doesn't look like it will get stale any time soon.
